" I have an 87 Evinrude 150, and I when I pump fuel into the carbs, the engine will fire and turn over, but only runs for just a few seconds. It went dead on me last summer while out on the lake. It appears to not be getting fuel, other than when I prime it before cranking. Does this sound like a VRO problem? "

There are repair kits available for the VRO pumps. If you have an assistant priming the bulb and the engine keeps running then repair the VRO pump.

It might be a clogged fuel filter. It sounds like whatever is the problem is common to all six cylinders. Possibly VRO. It could also be junk in the fuel line that restricts free flow of fuel.
