Problem with Mercruiser 30

"1991 Bayliner capri with 3.0

"1991 Bayliner capri with 3.0 Mercruiser, problem is boat runs great full throttle and when you bring it back down to an idle it drops down to 600 rpm for 2 to3 minutes and then will idle out smooth around 900. Does this every time i run it and some times dies and have to restart.

Any ideas"

"On the port side of my mercruiser 3.0L i have noticed a couple of pinhole drips coming from the block. Is it safe tooperate this motor or do I need a new one. I am new to I/O boating and someone told me to not worry, it was because it wasn't winterized right. They also said to put some JBWeld on the leaky area. True?"

Pulled the ca

Problem fixed

Pulled the carb. off and took apart only to find a ton of sediment in the bottom of float bowl. Cleaned carb and installed new carb. kit and a secondary fuel filter. Runs like a champ now and back to idleing at 650.
