Any advice on how to pressure

Any advice on how to pressure test a lower unit? Can I use air compressor with the lube pump connector? Any ideas on homeade devices?

Drain lower unit. Replace either the drain or oil level screw. Use compressor with the air pressure set between 7 to 12 psi. A smal short piece of fuel hose jammed between the air nozzle and the screw hole works for me.

The leak should show up by sight or sound (or both).

Never use a compressor.There is too much risk to yourself and the lower unit from overpressure. Use something like a bicycle pump and a 3/8-NC threaded adapter to pressurize.

London..... The compressor route is fine and safe. Just do not exceed the 7 to 12 psi. A higher psi might cause a bad seal to actually seal momentarily creating a false determination of its sealing qualities.
