New to forum and have questions about transem. I have a 1975 mercruiser 140. The out drive was replaced with Alpha or Alpha 1, unsure of the sequence of the alphas. I was going to rebuild the stern drive, when I priced all the parts, cost was more than I can buy good used alpha 1. Prefer to upgrade to alpha 1. I know the exhaust tube has to be changed, will it rise to same location as the old or do I have to change the manifold riser? Also, will my inner transem plate work or will it need to be alpha 1? If so, will my shift cable trim pump and wiring work or does all need changed? Any info is greatly appreciated.
