powerhead swap??

i have an 86 150 long shaft with a blown motor. i found a good deal on an "early 90s" 175 with a short shaft. can i swap powerheads and put the 175 on my 150 frame?

From 150 to 175. What changes on the motor gives it the extra 25 hp?

im trying to get the 175's model # what do i do? just compare the part numbers of the blocks for each motor?
