"Shop manual on order but I&#3

"Shop manual on order but I'm snowed in and want to fiddle with my broken motor. I picked up the boat with blown motor as a winter project. Lower piston has about 1/4" in/out movement but only thing apparent after pulling head is a light scratch in the affected cylinder (& piston movement). Top two cylinders in great shape but cross hatch less visible in lower (affected) bore. I'm suspecting bearing went out but can't tell if the slop is from the lower or upper end of rod. I'm anxious to pull the powerhead and dissasemble to see damage, but reluctant to try without manual. How about the rod that is attached under the carbs that go through the middle section? Any quick tips that will get me going, other than the sensible one (wait for the manual?"

"unplug everything electronic,

"unplug everything electronic, disconnect shift linkage under carbs,/fuel lines watch for drips,
then work your way down to the engine skirts.
once the power head bolts are visable take them all out and it should come right off ,if all goes well it should only take about 3 hrs or less"

"Thanks, I've got things d

"Thanks, I've got things disconnected & the engine skirts off. I'm not clear which bolts I need to remove to separate the power unit from the middle section. Does it separate directly below the cylinder head or at the next seam further down?"

"they r the ones, that go thru
