Thanks for your continued help. Well, I saw the mechanic and my poor engine today. The inside of the shatted cylinder #2 is dry - no fuel or oil. Although we did not open it, the crarbs appear blocked. There is no fuel filter on the tank but there is one on the engine and despite having cleaned it (so the mechanic says) when we opened it was rather dirty. He insists that some dirt got through and blocked the carb resulting in the explosion. I have to admit that the filter was pretty dirty coupled with no filter on the tank. Is it possible his explanation is accurate. Could a clean set of carbs/filter get all clogged in several hours running at high rpms?
The connection rod snalled but the remainer is still attached to the bold tightly. Any idea.
