"i have searched several post on the subject ,but got no real answers.
motor will go up but drops back down after a few seconds.any/ all info will help.this is the first boat (1990 spectrum) i ever owned that has this feature. thanks to all in advance.

I have a similar problem.The manual suggests that there could be air in the system.I will try purging the air first.If that does not work there is probably a leaking seal and a strip down will be required.I will keep you posted.Keith"

I drained

Hi Mark S.
I drained the tilt unit which had some strange pink oil in it.I refilled with sae30 engine oil and it seems to have been a success.Try changing your oil.Keith
