Power Trim Hydraulic Hose leaking

Came back from a day on the lake and noticed that i have a small leak on the starboard side hydraulic hose from the manifold to the trim piston.
The oil looks to be a bluish color, clear blue not milky. I have had this boat for 15 years and never had to top the hydraulic fluid up, it always looked to be the right level in the reservoir by the pump. I've ordered new hydraulic hoses for the power trim pistons and will change them once they arrive. The new hydraulic fluid looks to be more clear, is the blue color normal? The boat is a 2000 with a 4.3 Mercruiser, Alpha one - Gen II

Power trimp pumps normaly use power steering fluid and many peole use GM type transmission fluid.

Marine stores will sell "power trim" fluid if you wish to purchase that specifically. But it is power steering fluid equivalent.

But any of the above will work.

this has been standard since early '80's.

Older trim systems, some used Straight 20 weight motor oil. Weak pumps needed the heavy viscosity to move the trim ram pistons

Thanks for the info, hopefully the parts arrive by Friday so I can get on the water this weekend. Had to order them in, no dealers had any in stock in my city. :(
