Power tilt/trim

I want to ask if the Power Trim/tilt from a J40ELEDS is the same for a J48ESLESA? Mine is missing so Im trying to put it back on . Thanks

The 40HP, 48HP, and 50HP are just about identical across most parts. Are you saying the 48HP is a donor engine that has a working power TnT and you want to transplant that onto your 40HP? The model# for the 48 shows it as a 1990 and yours is a 1996. Just a guess here, but there probably isn't much difference in the TnT unit between those model years.

The parts list doesn't show a Power TnT for the '90 48HP: http://www.marineengine.com/parts/johnson-evinrude-parts.php?year=1990&hp=48&model=J48ESLESA But, if there's one on there then it's quite possible it will fit on your engine. Is there any chance you get check it for fit before buying, or is it a buy first deal?
