power steering?

1994 stingray 21ft 5.7 mercrusier p s prob.boat has been sitting 3 years went too use it heres what i got as the piston moves all the out seems fine on the way back in about 3/4 of the way in it seems a free play spot of about 3 inchs it makes the drive slam that way to end.back the other way its fine.belt is tight fluid is full did not have to add any after sitting 3 years.do you think it could have got air bound.? always steered good before sitting the 3 years. thanks for any help bcclew.

try turning wheel full left and hold for a short time and repeat on right side and hold. this should bleed air out.
