I have no power when taking of

I have no power when taking off from a stop. It takes the motor a long time to come to life and start to go. Once it goes it seems to run ok. It was fine this spring. By the way the VRO is removed from this motor. I run 50:1 mixed. I have tried different fuels also. Spark and compression are good all around. It also runs poor at low rpm. It seems like it is flooding. It loads up with fuel and is hard to start after. It also smokes lots at low rpm and fowls plugs. I have replaced them 3 times. I have also lost 5-8 mph top end speed. If I pull the carbs and clean and put new carb kits in will this help?

It absolutely will help. You have classic symptoms of "cooties in the carbs" - sounds like your low speed jets and possibly the float valves are getting gummed up.

Unserviced carbs are 100 times more likely to be the cause of a toasted motor than the VRO that was removed...
 
Would ethanol blended fuel cas

Would ethanol blended fuel case problems with power loss in motor by dirtying the carbs up? All the fuel in Manitoba is now blended with at least 10% ethanol. Is there something that ethanol will do to the motor?
