Power pack 1994 150 Intruder

Hello folks new user here.
Last couple times out on the lake my 1994 150 Intruder will instantly quit at higher RPM and before I can the throttle back to neutral it sometimes fires back up. Other times it will take a couple of minutes and then it will start again. Any thoughts? It is definitally electrical in nature.

Sounds like the power pack is going bad, but the stator is also a possibility.

I agree that the problem is definitely ignition. Fuel problems are never hard shut downs.
