"I am going to start by thanking all the experts here who have made my dream of owning and taking care of my boat possible. The motor in question is a E50DTLEDC serial # GO4123756. three cyl. It runs like a top EXCEPT for occasionally losing power. When it loses power it usually won't rev above 3200 rpm. Pumping the primer bulb does not change anything. Plugs all appear to be clean, and I have never noticed much change in the exhaust. Idle is a little rough, but usually smooths out as rpms increase. If I kill the engine and fish for a while, commonly the engine runs fine again when I start it up. One other thing. The first time this hapened, it was after I hit a large wake whils moving pretty quick. The problem seems to happen when it is choppy. Any help you couls give me would be appreciated. Thanks"

Anyway it sound like a 'loose' connection somewhere in the ignition system and the engine is dropping one cylinder, however it may even be a floater needle in one of the carburettors that gets stuck and then vibrates loose when you restart."

could you tell me how I would test the floats? Does testing entail removal of the carbs? Thnk you
