Possible 3.0 overheating or running hot

Hi guys
I am new to this motor and drive a 3.0 GM and a OMC stringer drive . I do not know if I have a problem or not but the engine according to my guage if it is right say at a fast idle on muffs about 180 +- is this to hot and will it rise in the water under load. The tell tail pisser hole is pumping water with a good stream so I think the drive pump is working . If this is to hot what about the riser or thermastat or?. Is there any known problem areas where there could be a blockage , I do have water coming out of the exhaust hole but I am not sure how much is normal, I might ad that my house water presure is not all that good so maybe that has somthing to do with it . Thanks in advance:confused:
 
water pressure could be the issue- I tee my water into the hose running to the thermo hsg rather than relying on muffs (country well - 60 psi here)

if you're new to it, might as well change the impeller and thermostat

after that, you could check riser - riser is more suspect for salt water boats but any riser can clog up over time
