Port engine doesn't like throttle application

Had the boat out over the weekend to see if new props would allow WOT. (1987 Chris Craft 336 Amerosport, Crusader 350's) All good except I could only get the port engine to take throttle in tiny increments. Suspect float adjustment off. Any other ideas? Also, any recommendations for Quadrajet carb rebuilders in Milwaukee area?

Sounds like a weak accelerator pump. Try removing the arm that operates it and pump hell out of it to get it working better. The motor will be flooded when you do this, so expect it to start poorly at first.

The diaphragm could also just have been dried out if it has been sitting....a few days with it being wet may be enough.

Only rebuilder I know that is "close" would be Cliff - cliffshighperformance.com
