first off recently rebuilt a 35 hp 81 johnson. Things went fairly well, only a couple reverse moments as I didnt do something right. But this was my first outboard experience and jumping right in to a total rebuild was a mission. but after I got a head from Joe the motor does not even turn over once and it is running like a champ! Thanks Joe
But runs so good wont shut off ! this is on a pontoon and there is(was) a very heavy stranded wire grounded from pontoon to motor. The large wire was very corroded so I eliminated it, but later found a small wire running to this from the switch. which I assume is the ground wire to kill motor. am I right?
Main question is is that real heavy ground needed or am I ok with out
