I can not get power out of my

I can not get power out of my engine.. Comp is good. but when I give it full throttle it just boggs down like i am pulling a tug boat.. Will the setting on the points off by 0.01-0.02 throw it off that much?

The usual cause of a problem such as you mention is a fouled carburetor.
