Please help on my johnson 9.5 carb

Hey guys I'm new here I have a question , I have a 1972 Johnson 9.5 I rebuilt car last year and I changed out core plugs it was my first time doing the core plugs and the bigger one I hit a little to hard I think and after running it for a while it starts flooding out and leaking fuel at the top of the card out the over flow hole do u think this is the reason or u think my float is getting stuck open... If the core plug leaks will that make it flood out?

Most likely something wrong with float or valve. Did you replace the float? If it leaks and fills with gas, it don't float so good.
