Please help me identify this motor

"I bought a motor that says Evinrude on it.

The title says 1975 Johnson, 70HP.

From what I gathered, searching here and on google, from the model number, it is a 1974.

The model number and manuf. id no on the title matches the motor.

Model number 70473M

"Cannot explain why the title says Johson but the year could be adrift because it was bought in 1975.

The receipt for mine is dated 1985, thats when I bought it, but it is actually a 1984 model.

Sometimes covers get swapped, sometimes the transom brackets with the ID plate get swapped. Things like that cause confusion but they dont seem to apply in your case. It is definitely an Evinrude number."
