"I'm looking to buy a 2003

"I'm looking to buy a 2003 Chaparral 300. One has the VP 5.0 Gxi (310 hrs) and one has the 5.7 Gi (180 hrs).

If both engines are in comparable condition, which is best for the size boat I want?

"I agree. Personally, I prefer

"I agree. Personally, I prefer the 5.7 over the 5.0. Also, the extra HP will likely allow your boat to cruise at higher speed within the engine economy RPM range, thus burning less fuel."
