Please help 86 43 omc cobra cutting out

"Hey all, i have another question. i am new at all this stuff. i bought a 86 4 winns with 4.3 omc cobra and took it out to the for the second time and noticed that after about an hour the motor started cutting out right after putting it in gear. after i throttle up a little bit it runs great. also it died a few time while in neutral. any suggestions? Thanks alot"
