"It's almost that time....

"It's almost that time..... The last 3 years I have used the standard pink RV antifreeze without any problems or issues I am aware of. Is there a better product? I run about 6 gallons with the earmuffs after engine is warm and after final oil change. The first 2 years I removed the thermostat, last year I left it in. Any advice is appreciated.

Thanks
Rick"

"As long as you drain the bloc

"As long as you drain the block and manifolds of water first before hooking up the pink stuff w/muffs, keep doing it. I recommend the -100 deg. F. pink stuff. T'stat removal is not necessary; just make sure it opens w/pink in it."

I've never drained anythin

I've never drained anything. Just Idled the engine with the muffs on running about 6 gallons through. Should I drain the manifolds as well?

Thanks
Rick

If you are below the Mason-Dix

If you are below the Mason-Dixon line you are probably OK. Above it; you take a chance. My opinion. An ounce of prevention is worth a pound of cure.

and be sure to blow out the li

and be sure to blow out the line to the hot water heater if you have that. then use a spare bildge pump to pump antifreeze through that circuit.

No water heate

No water heater but I do have an easybake oven. Last March when it was 40 deg. F. I wrapped two cheddar metts in heavy aluminum foil and laid them behind the T'stat hsg. for 30 min. while trolling. Mmmmmmmmmm good!

Bt Doctur:

Your method is my preferred one.
