Does anyone know what the spec is for selecting what size(thickness) the pinion bearing shim(s) should be. I have disassembled my 9.9 HT lower unit and one of the 2 shims was all but destroyed. I see 5 different sizes available, .10mm, .14mm, .18mm, .35mm, and .50mm. I'm guessing that they are used to take up any free play in the pinion gear. Any suggestions appreciated. :rolleyes:
