Pine needles sucked into 200HPDI

Yesterday I ran over a huge mass of pine needles and motors cavatated. After reversing I was able to clear then. About 15min later while at 3500rpm one motors alarm went off. Must have sucked up some pine needles. Shut it off for 20 minutes and then all was good. Can I remove the needles and or replace thermostate? Both motors had a good P stream at all times, even when alarm was sounding. Thanks For Any Advice. John
 
Remove the water inlet screens on the LU to see if they are stuck there. You may need to check the impeller and underneath the water pump housing for blockage.
