pee hole is gone

I have a 1996 200 hp johnson with no pee hole. There is a quick coupling in its place that lets the water exit in a large stream of water. I am guessing to pee hole piece has a purpose for letting the water out in a very small stream.Does any know if the if the peehole piece needs to be on the engine for it to cool properly?

Is the hole threaded? Cheap fix then you know it is correct.

I replaced one on a 1998 225 this year, that's it

I ended up putting the plug and nozzle on a quick couple and place it on the male quick coupler on the engine. Then when I need to flush the engine I unhook it and quick couple a hose on it.
