"i have a 6hp ward seaking i b

"i have a 6hp ward seaking i belive to be a '78,and i was wondering about a peanut butter colered goo seeping from "vents" on lower (smells like burnt gas and oil)is this normal? any help would be great ,thanks"

sound like u got water in there and got some leaking seals

there a five seals

"When you say 'vents'

"When you say 'vents' are you referring to the weep holes just south of the water pump area? If so, then you are probably seeing unburnt fuel. When the motor is cold, run too rich or run in very cold water, unburnt fuel will condense inside the exhaust tower and seep out the exhaust and weep holes.

Double check by draining a bit of oil from the lower unit. If the L/U oil is clear, then what you are seeing is as explained above."

"thanks ken , ithink your right seemed to be less goo after running a bit leaner ,motor also horfs out a chunk or to of peanu6t butter goo after sitting anchored for an extended period ,plus its been reeeeeealy cold in california this year could be juswt something im not used to seeing thanks all fer the info"
