Before I remove my trans I would likt to test the pressure when in forward. My manual says 1/4 fitting in the top rear of the housing. mine is a lot smaller than the 1/4 NPT (1989). Has enyone done this test?

"when I rebilt my BW 1500 I tested it and it should be about 150 psi, is your drive slipping in forward ? I have the replacement for that trans it's a lot better trans has 200 hours on it, also check the pressure in reverse it will give you a base line and give you an idea if its the pump, regulator, or the pistonliking in the forward clutch"

I'm going to start with a shifter cable adjustment,I'm not sure the lever is up to the stop the trans, then check the pressure. 1989 Ski Supreme Sierra Supreme 351 PCM. I had four adults and five kids in the boat (USCG approved for 10) and pulling a kid on a tube @ 2000 rpm full plow.Huge load and no slip. Try a very hard start and it slips (two different props). You have a replacment? Cost ? Damper plate?
