Some OMC parts are getting a bit harder to find or very expensive. What maintenance parts absolutely require OEM parts and which can you use an aftermarket mainly Sierra? Thanks.

Sorry racerone, my bad. I have a 1987 evinrude 88hp v4 crossflow. I noticed as time goes on the OMC parts are sometimes harder too find. I mainly need stuff like gaskets, T-stat kits, waterpump kits, fuel pump kits, ignition parts, mostly general maintenance items.. I guess my main question, is it worth searching and paying more for the OEM parts over Sierra?
