"i am parting out a 70 hp 79 model, what other years will these parts fit? I know that in 86 mercury changed, so up to an 85 model? but what about years before that? as early as what in the 70's?"

The 50/60 horse of the same vintage was a 3 cylinder.

The 60 shared a block with the 70 horse, but the 50 was slightly different and the lower units for both the 50/60 were different from the 70, but the ignition, crank shaft, some other block components etc, were all interchangable with the 70 horse."
