I have a 1977 Silverten with two Chrysler 318s . I recently just replaced the starboard side transmission because it it wasn’t engaging into forward and reverse. I ended up purchasing a transmission from some guy down in North Carolina and had it shipped up to me. I had a boat mechanic/friend of mine install the transmission pretty self-explanatory, couple of bolts and a hose or two filled it up with transmission fluid let it idle for five minutes, put it into gear and nothing happens forward or reverse video, but could be malfunctioning or some thing that we could be missing
