"I would like to paint my lowe

"I would like to paint my lower unit, since it is scratched up. I currently have it off the motor. Is there anything certain paint I need to use or something to be careful of?"
 
"sand it very well,use a zinc

"sand it very well,use a zinc chromate,or similar primer,.....the brp/omc paint, IS,actually better than the others... i have used many of both,..just repainted my 200 from midsection,down..."
