"Help, Help, Help. I've replaced one piston about 7 months ago, another piston last month, and a blown head gasket within the last week. Total repair cost about $4,500. The mechanic states the problem is overheating. Water pump and thermostates don't appear to be the problem. My question is how many water deflectors should there be on each side of the motor? I saw two deflectors on the right side of the motor where the head gasket was blown (one was melted,) but the Johnson manuels indicate only one deflector for each side. How many deflectors should there be? I am ready to ditch this motor if the cause of the overheating or other source of the problem can not be identified. Any help would be appreciated. Tks, Bill"

"Guess a typo error as the 199

"Guess a typo error as the 1999's are 60Degree and no deflectors or head gaskets.
89 however is a different story, but no 115 but 110?
That engine has a total of 4 deflectors.
Have You tested Your alarm system?
When You say 'don't appear to be the problem', when was last time changed?"
