"I couln't find my origina

"I couln't find my original message so I thought I would start over. I have a 82 Johnson 90hp V4 I replaced diverters, impella, gaskets, cleaned head water jackets, and t-stats. I get water out the pee tube but the cylinders get to 168 when I shut it down. I was using a infrared temp checker and I only got the t-stat housing at 102 or so with the cyclinder heads at 168, all 4 were within 10 degrees. I get a little water out he exhaust.
What should I try next...take out t-stats?

What am I checking for? The temp. rises and the idle dies out in proportion to temp.
I am going to pull t stats and try that.

I took out the t-stat and pressure springs engine ran at 117 F Should I put some restriction back in?
The t-stats are brand new.

"I put back in tonight, when reinstaling I saw that the air bleed hole in the plastic t-stat housing was plugged. I theorized that it was air locked and not allowing water to make it through. Does this make sense?
