Overheating with muffs

Hello... Is it possible for a '93 90hp to overheat when on muffs, and not overheat while in the lake? If so, is it common? Thanks in advance.

Yes... When running a high hp engine on a flushette, the water pressure must be turned on full otherwise the engine will surely overheat.

The true test is running the motor in the lake. They were made to run in lakes, not on flushers.:)

The best way to flush is in a barrel of water, for the larger gearbox you can get creative cutting down a large drum and adding a drain plug. You want the water level 5 inches above the water pump impeller before starting.

I hate muffs..i use a stock water tank that farmers use and run a hose in it to keep it topped off..you can run all day if you wish at under 2k rpms..cust about 100 bucks on amazon or farmers supply..they have a removable drain..a 3/8 socket wrench fits mine...
