My 90 Hp 2 stroke serial no 09998441 had a starter solenoid problem about 3 weeks ago, I replaced the solenoid. Last week when I turned off the engine I could hear the starter running, when I disconnected the battery obviously it stopped but on reconnecting it, the engine started without turning the key. I took the boat back to the slip and for various reasons had to leave it for about an hour with the battery disconnected. When I came back to it the battery was dead and was very warm. I replaced the battery and the solenoid again and then checked voltage to the battery which was hitting 16volts at about 3000 rpm so replaced the regulator. The battery voltage is still getting to about 15v at 3000rpm+, has anyone any idea why the voltage would be running this high. I'm thinking the solenoid issues have been as a result of excess voltage and don't want to be replacing another solenoid or indeed battery. Thanks
