I have a 1976 Glastron with a AQ130C volvo penta with a 270 lower unit
I was wondering how do you drop the lower unit to replace the impeller? I just recently purchased this boat. and when on lake i noticed the temp gauge was sitting around 200 then i turned around decreased speed and went back to dock, seeing how I just got out of the no wake zone when i noticed it. any help would be greatly apprecaited:)

thanks

J.C., unlike Mercruisers, the Volvo outdrives do not have a water pump. The raw water pump is located in the front part of the engine.

If the engine overheats while on the plane, you may want to check the condition of the raw water hose connector in the outdrive, to which a hose with S shape is attached. Those connectors are made in aluminum and with time they become corroded and eventually perforated, so the raw water pump will suck air instead of water.

A new hose connector with gasket is not expensive, but to replace it you should get the boat out of the water. Check this link.
