Outdrive Doesnbt Go all the way Down

At the dock, the outdrive won't go all the way down. You can hear the pumps running, but it won't go down even if I stand on it. Once underway, it goes the rest of the way down when I push the switch."

Does it go up? Look in the Pum

Does it go up? Look in the Pump Reservoir and check the fluid for proper level and the color should be transparent. Preventive mainenance should be done on these pumps by simply changing out the fluid. On occasion the fluid will jell causing the problem you describe. Al W.

Sounds like a compound problem

Sounds like a compound problem Vinny. The pump directional valves are gummed up and the directional switch needs replacing. Just a guess but an educated one! Been there! Al W.
