sorry i was asking about the cable that shifts it from drive to nutrel to revers. when i push the handle forward the cable does not move. but the engine goes up. and it is already in gear when i start it.

Also, make sure that cable attachment tab (part 28) is not loose, make sure the two screws 29 are tight. Also, make sure the cube (49) is attached tot he cable and the cotterpin 51 is securing the cube into the gear yoke (2).

There should be two cables: on

There should be two cables: one going from the control to the carburetor (gas) and another one going from the control to the outdrive (shift). Which one can you not find?
