"I have a 2003 Fourwinns 328 Vista with volvo 5.7 GI with the DP drives. Both the engines and outdrives were serviced and most of the drives had all the working parts replaced. I think my cables are in need of adjustment. When pulling out of a dock I slip the SB engine into reverse and its fine. When parking I think the engines rpm is too high because cable is out of adjustment. The throttles have always been very tight and after the last overhaul to include everything in both drives the throttles are not correct and I beleive the problem is in the cables. How do I check this, solve the problem? Also how does the throttle body itself seperate from the boat? It doesnt seem to have any screws/bolts holding it into place. I bought this boat new and the throttles have always been a source of irritation."

One other thought.... Engine O

One other thought.... Engine OFF.... Remove your throttle cable connection to the TBI unit.
Move the shift/throttle unit from Neutral into either FWD or REV Gear.
There should be NO actuation of the TBI until full gear engagement has been achieved.
