Outboard ball pumps hard from external tank, but not from boat tank?

Couldn't get my primer ball hard this morning (was so pissed at the dock), came home and started messing with fuel lines, etc... turns out its the fuel line heading into the deck (ball goes hard on a 1 gallon tester tank). This is one thing over the years I never really messed with.

What could the issue be? I guess my question is whats in between the hose fitting on the deck (form the ball) to the tank down there in the bulge? I'm hoping its something along those lines, and not gas tank related (doesn't smell line gas in the bulge)

Sounds like there is an issue with the fuel line from the bulb to the on board tank.------Even an issue with the pick up tube inside the tank.

Add some gas? Your gauge went bad? Probably what Racer said. I have repaired these more often right at the drop tube in the tank.

Might be an air leak before the bulb. That will do it.

Could be the check valve in the bulb failed too. They do go to he!!.
