Ouch Hit rocks today with my 70 hp Johnson

Its a 1979 Johnson (70EL7

Its a 1979 Johnson (70EL79R). Bent the blades on the prop pretty good. I have confirmed that it is repairable. My question relates to the damage
on the skeg. Most of it sheared off with the impact. Are there any techniques that can be used
to repair it or am I searching for a new lower unit?

"Derrick.... The same companies that repair propellers can heli arc (aluminum weld) a new skeg to that lower unit. I've had this done many times. After minor sanding, priming, and painting, it's quite difficult to see that the unit was ever damaged.

Usually the lower unit will need to be removed from the engine for obvious reasons.
