I have a 71 Johnson 125hp. It never really seemed to be warming up enough. Water would start coming out the relief ports within a few minutes. I never seen the temp above 115. Thought I had a stuck thermostat. I ordered a new one. When order I notice it was rated at 105 degrees. Does that seem low. The manual says it open at 145, but it also says to check temp but using a 100 and 130 degree sticks. 100 should melt 130 shouldn’t. So I’m a little confused by if saying it opens at 145 but has a 105 thermostat. What temperature is good for this engine. Thanks.
