One More time - Mariner 3.3 HP

As I'm attempting to get spare items for my Mariner 3.3 HP motor, I have a cotter key for the prop with no problem. However, when trying remove the prop to find out about the shear pin, I find I can't get the prop off. Since I have no owner's manual, I assumed the prop just slid directly off the shaft, but with some moderate effort, it won't come off. So, before I ruin anything, I thought I'd here to find the correct method. How to do it, please?

It should just pull right off.

The prop itself has a slot that the ends of the shear pin (sit in) and it may be a little "tight", but if you have removed the cotter pin there is nothing else really "holding" it there - try applying some prying pressure on two sides of the prop (directly accross from each other so the prop doesn't bind on the shaft) and it should pop off.

Just be mindful that you can damage the gearcase - it's just cast aluminum so if you are using steel tools, the case will break before they do...
