"Ok so just installed Twinsscan gauge and turns out the port motor is burning about 3-4 gph more than starboard but only above about 2500 rpm. As the rpm increases the difference also increases. Boat is just back in water so know bottom is clean and all running gear in good condition. I have just done a tune up including new plugs, wires, ditributor cap and rotor
(electronic ignition), and new fuel filters. I also cleaned the flame arrestor and cleaned the carb with a spray in carb cleaner.

Basically the meter is confirming what we knew as from full the port always is down to about 1/4 when starboard is still around 1/2.

Where should I look next?

1988 Crusader 454s with about 1000hrs straight inboard."

"Since you already cleaned the flame arrestors....That's what was wrong with mine. Have you looked at the full advance with a dial timing light (not just the initial advance)? You might not be getting full advance at 2,800 rpms.

"Jeff, thanks I think I need to get a timing light. Can you give me a little detail as to how to do this or where I could get a good How To manual?

What is full advance and is 2,800 rpm a breakpoint or soemthing? Thanks"
