One cylinder firing Tohatsu

" I have a 2 cylinder Tohatsu

" I have a 2 cylinder Tohatsu 70hp, unknown model (can only find 3 cylinder models), which is not running on both cylinders. The most I can get out of her is a walking pace. I've checked that both leads have plenty spark to the plugs and there is fuel getting to the plugs. I've also noticed that since this problem started the water is not coming out the jet below the top cover. I thought the motor might be shutting down the one cylinder to prevent it overheating because the water isn't circulating, but there has been no warning sound as yet to indicate that the cooling system is at fault or that the impeller needs replacing. Though, I'm not sure if this model has a warning signal or not. Can anyone help to identify the problem? "

" Sounds like a gasket or the

" Sounds like a gasket or the manifold on the exhaust side is bad and water is getting into the cylinder and drownding the plug.This may be the cause or you have a gasket on the head that is letting water into the cylinder from the water jacket. This would explain the lack of water at the discharge tube as now most of the cooling water is being passed thru the exhaust.Worst case is you have a cracked block, but not likely unless you have overheated engine. Basically cooling water is getting into the combustion chamber somehow and its probably an easy fix. Good luck and post your results, we like happy endings. Kim "
