"I see a lot of posts on cracked lower units. I unfortunately bought mine with the crack, the previous owner liked to use JB weld to cover it. I believe I have the Johnson type "O" lower drive, its the only one I could find that has the correct measurements. Anyway, my mechanic says I can use just about any lower unit as long as its not a king cobra, is this true? And, where is a good place to buy just the housing?"
