"Is there any other way for water to get into the Intermediate Gear Case on a 1983 OMC 800 Stringer Drive other than through the fill plug, the drain plug or the ball gear seal? I pressure tested the unit and found no leaks."

The steering gear has a seal. I left out a crack. But i never have personally seen a crack in the intermediate.

Allow me to explain. Water gets sucked up the drive, up thru channels, thru the intermediate channels, into a hose that is connected to the intermediate to the motor."
