I am preping to reassemble my stringer outdrive and need to know what sealant and grease I should use if any. I want to get everything rather than multiple trips out. so besides the parts and gasket kits I have coming what grease and sealants do I need?

I you can wait till later this

I you can wait till later this afternoon I will look it up in my book I know it's in there. It just dose not have the shifter cable it it.

"I used OMC triple guard greas

"I used OMC triple guard grease when I reassembled my drive. I even used if around some of the o-rings. I used it on the splines of all shafts, the bearings and around the lips of oil seals. As far as sealant, you will need some around the bearing seals (outer metal rings). Coat the outer metal housing before you drive them in. I used permantex high temperature gasket/sealant for most areas. I used copper spray a gasket by permantex for the gaskets around the pivot housing. I believe you don't need any here but mine had some there when taking it apart. The spray works great as it makes a thin layer. You don't want to plug the water inlets with RV sealant. I used 3M 5200 marine sealant around the boot. This takes some time to fully cure but is designed for under the water line. Once it cures it forms a great seal. I used a little around the shift cable where it goes through the intemediate housing too. Use regular ol marine grease or OMC triple guard (tube for a grease gun) to grease the swivel bearing."

Thanks guys. All put back tog

"Mine stripped out also, I also had to helicoil them. When done, I torqued them to specs and they have held without a problem."
