Omc out drive questions

Just a few questions about the OMC outdrive‘s what are the differences between the four cylinder Ford and a four-cylinder GM motor will the v-6 or v-8 out drive. Bolt in ? As a replacement out drive ? I have a 1991 Cervelle with the 3.0 Just wondering if I find a good out drive that is reasonable Pick it up for a spare no sure if there is a year split ? I hope someone can enlighten me on the OMC outdrive Interchange thank you
 
You will first need to know if you would be replacing with a like model drive.... i.e., year, model, etc.
Secondly, each engine requires a different over-all reduction. In other words, you would not replace a 4 cylinder drive with a V-8 drive, or visa-versa.

GM, I have a 1986 19' glassport with the chevy 4 and OMC outdrive. Boat has been garage kept. about 12 years ago I have the motor outdrive removed and the stringers/transom redone. Over the 4th of july weekend the motor mounts failed. I no longer want to fool with this boat and am taking it to the local land fill. If you want the motor/outdrive, you're welcome to it. Let me know. I'm going to try to give it away and hate the idea of having it thrown away. I can start it for you if you're interested, but can not run as the motor has dropped down 1" causing the bellows seal to fail.
